Best suited to private, photography, mid-range travelers comfortable with a moderate itinerary over 15 days. Final timings, accommodation and activities are confirmed for the travel dates.

Overview

The fifteen-day circuit is designed for travelers who would rather understand each landscape than race through it. It adds second days at Murchison and Bwindi, protects the forest treks from long transfers and keeps Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo as meaningful route chapters.

This is a private, tailor-made journey rather than a fixed-date promise. The quotation matches accommodation to the confirmed route, checks permit and activity availability, and keeps long road sectors realistic. Domestic flights can replace selected transfers when schedules, luggage and budget make that the better choice.

The safari suits travelers who value a varied landscape and an informed pace. Wildlife remains free-ranging, forest treks vary in duration and difficulty, and no individual sighting is guaranteed. Your guide adjusts each day's practical timing to current park, road and weather conditions without changing the core route.

Highlights

  • ✦Two full Murchison wildlife days
  • ✦Chimpanzee tracking and Queen Elizabeth wildlife
  • ✦Bwindi gorilla trek with a flexible recovery day
  • ✦Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo to finish the south-western loop

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. 1

    Arrive in Entebbe

    Entebbe

Meet your driver-guide at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your hotel. The briefing covers the road plan, park rules, luggage, permit documents and the way activity times can shift with weather or wildlife conditions. An early arrival can leave time for the botanical gardens or an unhurried lakeside afternoon; neither is treated as included unless it appears in the quotation.

Meals: D · Stay: Entebbe hotel, confirmed with your quotation

  2. 2

    Rhino sanctuary and Murchison

Entebbe → Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary → Murchison Falls

Travel north and, when confirmed, join sanctuary rangers for the designated rhino activity at Ziwa. The walk is governed by the sanctuary's current age, safety and operating rules, which are checked for the family before payment. Continue to Murchison Falls with comfort stops and enough time for children to settle before the main wildlife day.

Meals: L, D · Stay: Murchison Falls area family-friendly lodge

  3. 3

Savannah drive and Nile boat journey

    Murchison Falls National Park

Use the cool morning for a northern-bank game drive across palm-dotted savannah, where giraffe, elephant, buffalo, Uganda kob, hartebeest and lion may be encountered. In the afternoon, travel by boat along the Victoria Nile toward the base of Murchison Falls. Hippos, crocodiles, fish eagles and animals drinking at the bank often provide the day's closest observations.

Meals: B, L, D · Stay: Murchison Falls area lodge

  4. 4

    A second Murchison wildlife day

    Murchison Falls National Park

A second day avoids treating Murchison as a single-drive stop. Your guide selects a different circuit according to recent wildlife movement and road conditions. Where the itinerary and boat schedule allow, a delta journey can focus on papyrus edges and waterbirds, including the possibility of shoebill; no individual species is promised.

Meals: B, L, D · Stay: Murchison Falls area lodge

  5. 5

    Murchison Falls viewpoints

    Murchison Falls National Park

Visit the designated viewpoints above the falls, where the Victoria Nile compresses into a narrow gorge and drops into the river below. Conditions, access arrangements and ranger guidance determine the exact stops. Continue afterward on the confirmed route, allowing time for park gates, the ferry or bridge arrangements in force on the travel date, and normal road variation.

Meals: B, L, D · Stay: Lodge on the next confirmed sector of the route

  6. 6

From the Nile to the crater-lake highlands

    Murchison Falls → Kibale region

Leave Murchison after breakfast for the long but varied journey south-west. The road passes rural trading centres, farms and the approaches to the Albertine Rift before reaching the greener Fort Portal and Kibale region. Stops are planned for lunch and comfort; no late forest activity is promised after a transfer of this length.

    Meals: B, L, D · Stay: Kibale / Fort Portal area lodge

  7. 7

    Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale

    Kibale National Park

Report to the designated visitor centre for the Uganda Wildlife Authority briefing, then enter Kibale with ranger-guides to look for a habituated chimpanzee community. Trek length, terrain and visibility vary with the animals' movement. The afternoon is kept lighter for a community wetland walk or lodge time only when separately confirmed, rather than attaching an unbooked activity to the package.

    Meals: B, L, D · Stay: Kibale / Fort Portal area lodge

  8. 8

    Crater country to Queen Elizabeth

Kibale region → Queen Elizabeth National Park

Leave the forest region after breakfast and travel south toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. The route can include crater-lake viewpoints when road and weather conditions suit. Enter the park with time for a short drive in the Kasenyi or Mweya area, saving the main wildlife circuit for the cooler hours of the next morning.

Meals: B, L, D · Stay: Queen Elizabeth area lodge

  9. 9

    Kasenyi plains and Kazinga Channel

    Queen Elizabeth National Park

Start on the Kasenyi plains while temperatures are cool, looking for Uganda kob, buffalo, elephant, warthog and the predators that use the open grassland. After lunch, join a scheduled boat journey on the Kazinga Channel, where hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds and animals approaching the banks can often be watched from low on the water. Sightings remain natural and cannot be guaranteed.

Meals: B, L, D · Stay: Queen Elizabeth area lodge

  10. 10

    Kyambura Gorge forest walk

Queen Elizabeth National Park · Kyambura Gorge

After the ranger briefing, descend into Kyambura Gorge for a guided forest walk. The gorge holds chimpanzees and other primates, but dense vegetation and ranging behaviour mean encounters are never assured. The rest of the day is deliberately flexible for a crater-lake viewpoint, a shorter game drive or a slow return to the lodge, depending on trek duration and weather.

Meals: B, L, D · Stay: Queen Elizabeth area lodge

  11. 11

    Savannah to mountain forest

Queen Elizabeth National Park → Bwindi region

Use the morning for a final Queen Elizabeth drive or the Ishasha sector, depending on the lodge location and road plan. Continue to the Bwindi sector named on the gorilla permit. This detail matters: Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo are not interchangeable at the last minute, so accommodation is matched to the confirmed trailhead.

Meals: B, L, D · Stay: Bwindi sector lodge matched to the permit

  12. 12

    Mountain-gorilla trekking day

    Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After the official briefing, enter the forest with Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger-guides and trackers. The route can be steep, muddy and physically demanding, and the time needed depends on where the assigned group is moving. If the gorillas are located, conduct around them and viewing time follow current UWA rules. Encounters are highly valued but never described as guaranteed.

    Meals: B, L, D · Stay: Bwindi sector lodge

  13. 13

    A flexible Bwindi highlands day

    Bwindi region

Keep this day flexible after the trek. Depending on the selected lodge and current local arrangements, the proposal can include a guided nature walk, a community-led visit or simply a slower day overlooking the forested ridges. Optional experiences are confirmed in writing and should support local guides rather than be improvised on arrival.

    Meals: B, L, D · Stay: Bwindi region lodge

  14. 14

    Bwindi to Lake Mburo

Bwindi region → Lake Mburo National Park

Travel east from Bwindi toward Lake Mburo, with a highland viewpoint or Lake Bunyonyi stop when it fits the confirmed road plan. Arrive for a late-afternoon drive or ranger-led activity, looking for zebra, impala, eland, buffalo and giraffe in the park's open valleys and woodland.

Meals: B, L, D · Stay: Lake Mburo area lodge

  15. 15

    Return to Entebbe

    Safari region → Entebbe

Begin the return journey with stops agreed by the guide. The itinerary allows for normal traffic and road variation and does not pair a long overland transfer with an unrealistically early flight. When the international departure is too early, an Entebbe night is added to the quotation.

Meals: B, L · Stay: Departure or Entebbe hotel when quoted
