Frequently Asked

About our gallery

Can I use these photographs?
All photos in our gallery are copyright Family Holiday Safaris and our guides. They may not be reused without written permission. Travelers who book with us receive a complimentary trip photo album.
Were these photos taken on real safaris?
Yes. Every photograph in this gallery was taken on a Family Holiday Safaris trip in Kenya, Tanzania or Zanzibar by our guides, partner photographers and travelers.
What camera gear do I need to bring on safari?
A DSLR or mirrorless camera with a 100–400mm or 200–600mm zoom lens is ideal for wildlife. A wide-angle lens (16–35mm) covers landscapes and lodges. Modern smartphones produce excellent images for closer subjects and people. We can also arrange a dedicated photo guide on request.
When is the best season for safari photography?
July–October offers the great migration in the Maasai Mara and Serengeti with dramatic light. November–March brings green landscapes, newborn animals and migratory birds. Both seasons deliver world-class images.
Do you offer photographic safaris with specialist guides?
Yes. We design tailor-made photo safaris with vehicles configured for photography (bean bags, single occupancy of the row, charging on board) and guides trained in tracking and positioning for light. Contact us for a quote.
