Frequently Asked
About our gallery
- Can I use these photographs?
- All photos in our gallery are copyright Family Holiday Safaris and our guides. They may not be reused without written permission. Travelers who book with us receive a complimentary trip photo album.
- Were these photos taken on real safaris?
- Yes. Every photograph in this gallery was taken on a Family Holiday Safaris trip in Kenya, Tanzania or Zanzibar by our guides, partner photographers and travelers.
- What camera gear do I need to bring on safari?
- A DSLR or mirrorless camera with a 100–400mm or 200–600mm zoom lens is ideal for wildlife. A wide-angle lens (16–35mm) covers landscapes and lodges. Modern smartphones produce excellent images for closer subjects and people. We can also arrange a dedicated photo guide on request.
- When is the best season for safari photography?
- July–October offers the great migration in the Maasai Mara and Serengeti with dramatic light. November–March brings green landscapes, newborn animals and migratory birds. Both seasons deliver world-class images.
- Do you offer photographic safaris with specialist guides?
- Yes. We design tailor-made photo safaris with vehicles configured for photography (bean bags, single occupancy of the row, charging on board) and guides trained in tracking and positioning for light. Contact us for a quote.
